Dear Guests, A very warm welcome to our hotel. For us and our staff, enjoyment à la Metzler means we take exquisite care of you during your stay, especially when it comes to meals. This is where good food and fine wines play an important role. We hope you will enjoy delightful days here with us in the Bregenz Forest.

Our ERNELE buffet includes a wide range of local products

from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. After this, late risers can enjoy a tasty à la carte breakfast in our dining room.



A selection of teas, pastries and cheese – plus a sweet surprise – are served in our tea room every afternoon between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.



Erna Metzler is still at work here, assisted by Chef Benjamin Wolter and his team. Mother Metzler prefers freshly prepared dishes made from specially selected ingredients.

Half-board guests are invited to eat in our dining room and in the Wälder Stube between 6.30 p.m. and 8 p.m., where we serve a 5-course evening meal in a stylish atmosphere. If you are keen to be served quickly, we ask you to be seated between 6 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.

Our shop and restaurant is a showcase for local produce, sustainability and exciting dishes. Classics like Wiener Schnitzel, trout, knuckle of veal, and traditional Kaiserschmarren pancakes can also be found on the menu, depending on availability.

Your host, Felix Gross, will be happy to advise you, and half-board guests can enjoy delicious local and classic dishes here from 6 p.m. onwards. Booking essential.

Wälder Stube 1840 - Gourmet Restaurant


Tuesday to Saturday from 6 p.m.

Our gourmet restaurant offers a 3-course, 5-course and 7-course connoisseur menu. Chef Benjamin Wolter cooks with an exciting mix of top Austrian and international produce from selected partners and suppliers.

His success was rewarded once again in 2018 with two toques from Gault&Millau, three stars from A la Carte Austria and three forks from the Falstaff gourmet guide. You are welcome to enjoy the 5-course menu in the old Wälder Stube for a supplement of € 45 on top of the half-board price. Booking essential.
